Peng Di, secretary general of the Hunan Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (HFROC), led a team to visit Shibadong Village of Huayuan County on October 12, an Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base.
The delegation visited such places as the exhibition hall for targeted poverty alleviation, Shibadong Miao Embroidery Rural Revitalization Demonstration Base, and Jingzhunping Square to gain a deeper understanding of villagers’ lives, and the great changes that have taken place in Shibadong Village.
In recent years, through various forms such as visits, study tours and experiences, the village has shown China’s excellent traditional culture to overseas Chinese, spread Chinese stories and promote cultural exchanges.
In 2023, the village was awarded the title of the “Overseas Chinese International Cultural Exchange Base in China”. As of now, the village has received overseas Chinese and international friends from over 50 countries and regions around the world.
